Emigrant Ship "Lizzie Webber" - built 1852
Here are two pictures of this ship by Frederick Garling painted in the 1850s. The first is a sketch (22 x 26 cm) of the migrant ship "Lizzie Webber" and the second a larger watercolour (24 x 35 cm) in the National Library of Australia. Both show the ship in heavy weather, with the sketch inscribed with the location as "off Gabo Island in the SE of NSW". The ship made her maiden voyage from Sunderland in 1852. The sketch of the ship is not shown in colour.
