Functional Responsibilities
Most of my career has been in the role of Project leader, Senior Analyst or DP Manager, generally being responsible for the development and support of new systems, though I did spent a few years supporting and extending packages developed by others.
Applications developed in my early years were all batch based, but over the past 15 years they have been on-line systems both single site with up to 400 users and standard packages used in up to 40 separate installations.
My personal IT experience covers the whole range of the software development lifecycle from long range IT planning, the business and data analysis phases, through systems and database design, to program specification and writing. I have also carried out the testing, implementation and training phases, including the writing of manuals and on-line help, followed by on-going support and systems maintenance.
In various positions I have managed groups of up to 12 staff, and project teams of up to 6 people whilst at other times I have developed complete systems single handed.
Other experience includes staff recruitment, budget preparation, tender preparation and evaluation, supplier liaison and contract negotiation.
