90th Anniversary Activities in 2009
The club is celebrating its nonagesimal anniversary in 2009. This page will keep you informed on what we are doing and will be kept up to date as things develop. You will find plenty of information on the club's history elsewhere on the site. On the right are club QSL cards for 1925, 1929 and 2008.
Currently a number of possible ways of marking the anniversary are under consideration, including

A commemorative dinner

A special callsign and QSL card during the year

An award is being planned for on air contacts with the club during the year. Points will be awarded based on mode, band, officer/member and club station with type of award based on total points. Full details will be on this web site before 2009 commences.

A project by several club members to build working replicas of a WWII paraset used by the resistance in occupied France is under way with sets hoped to be completed by the start of 2009.

Restoration of some early 1920s radio sets owned by the club

Issue of a CD with historical documents, pictures, early web sites and other details about the club

Issue of a souvenir brochure about the club

Issue of a DVD with short videos of club activities

A DXpedition to Lord Howe Island

An article for "Amateur Radio" magazine outlining the club's history and anniversary activities

Not forgetting the regular annual auction during the winter
